This policy explains what personal information Real Fencing collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers realfencing.co.nz and our regional websites.

What we collect
When you ask for a quote or get in touch, we collect what you give us:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- the address of the property the work is for
- what you need done, and any notes you add
When you use the website, we also collect some information automatically:
- the pages you visit and the links you click
- the website or advertisement you arrived from
- your approximate location, from your internet connection
- your device and browser type
We may also record how visitors move around our pages so we can see what is confusing and improve it.
You do not have to give us your details, but without them we cannot prepare a quote.
Why we collect it
- To prepare your quote and answer your enquiry.
- To carry out your work and keep in touch with you about it.
- To keep records of jobs, invoices and payments.
- To measure how our advertising is performing and to improve this website.
- To send you occasional updates about our services if you have asked for them, or if you are an existing customer. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who sees it
- The Real Fencing team carrying out your work.
- The suppliers who run our systems, including the software we use to manage enquiries, quotes and invoicing, and the services we use to send emails and text messages. They can only use your information to provide that service to us.
- Analytics and advertising services such as Google and Meta, which receive information about how this website is used. This is normally anonymous, though these companies may match it to an account you hold with them.
- Others where the law requires it, or where we need advice from our accountant, lawyer or insurer.
We never sell your personal information.
Some of the services we use store information on servers outside New Zealand, mainly in Australia and the United States. By sending us your details you agree to that.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while we are working with you and for as long as we need them to run our business. Records of completed work, invoices and payments are kept for seven years, as tax law requires. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted when we no longer need them.
Cookies
This website uses cookies for two reasons: to make the site work properly, and to measure website use and advertising performance.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working properly. You can also manage advertising preferences directly with Google and Meta through their own settings.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you
- to correct anything that is wrong
- to delete it, where we are not required to keep it

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
Keeping it safe
We limit who can see your information, use reputable suppliers, and protect our accounts with passwords and two-factor authentication. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously.
Children
Our services are for property owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
