How It Works
Our hidden fence installations utilize a wire that’s buried around the boundary of your property (or specified area). The wire carries a patented FM signal that sends an alert to a receiver collar when the collar comes too close to the boundary.
Your pet is equipped with a lightweight, waterproof, and highly durable collar that picks up the signal and sends an alert to your pet. If your pet ignores the signal, it receives a harmless feedback signal from the collar.
With proper training and installation, your dog or cat will quickly learn and obey the boundaries of the property.
What is a hidden fence?
Hidden dog fences are an underground pet fencing system that uses a radio signal to keep your dog in a designated area, such as a front yard or backyard. Likewise, hidden fences also keep your dog out of an area, such as a swimming pool area, patio, or garden.
Hidden fences can also be used to create Indoor Boundaries that keep your dog from entering specific areas in your home.
How do hidden fences work?
Hidden fences are created by burying a ‘boundary wire’ a few inches underground around your property. The buried wire carries a harmless radio signal from a transmitter installed in either your home or garage.
Your dog is equipped with a lightweight, waterproof collar that picks up the radio signal. As your dog approaches the buried wire, the collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration).
If your dog travels further, he or she will receive a mild but safe stimulation from the collar. Through training, your dog learns to stop at the warning signal. Although there are differences in some of the product features, this is how all hidden dog fences work.
With an indoor system, the hidden wire runs around your couch, under the lip of the counter, around the trash or across a doorway or wherever you need to create either a containment area or an “off-limits” area. Will the hidden fence collar hurt my dog?
No – the stimulation is unpleasant, but it will not “burn” or injure your pet. It is a sensation similar to the static shock. It is uncomfortable, but it will not harm you.
